Breathtaking landscapes, glaciers, condors, caracaras, massive herds of guanacos and of course the puma will await you on the bottom of south America. On this trip we are focusing on finding and observing the majestic mountain lion (Puma). We are being guided by a professional puma guide that works for a puma conservation project. The highest concentration of mountain lions can be found in the Torres del Paine National Park. We will look for these beautiful cats where scientists also observe these shy creatures. Pumas are, like most cats, active in the dawn and dusk of the day, due to that behaviour we will be starting our game drives early in the morning before the sun will ride over the mountains. On one of the days we will make a boat trip between glaciers and ice bergs on the magnificent Lago Grey. For the warmest times of the day with the lowest puma activity we will make “siesta” with lunch and relaxation time. For Photo enthusiasts the area around the camp-site offers great opportunities to make beautiful pictures of the scenery as well as we might be able to spot some animals like armadillos, skunks, parrots or foxes.

Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Punta Arenas where our guide awaits you. We drive directly towards Torres del Paine N.P. . Depending on our Arrival time we will make a break in Puerto Natales for a quick lunch. Late afternoon we will arrive in Torres del Paine NP.
Day 2 to 5
Every morning we will head out before sunrise to meet our local puma guide. With him, we will discuss the plan for the day and start searching for pumas. Sometimes we are waiting at the same spot for several hours to wait for a puma that was observed earlier or we take a small walk/hike for up to 2-3 km. In case a puma was spotted we have to act very quickly, thats why all participants should be safe walkers and should have a healthy level of stamina. The area is rich in big guanaco herds, the favourite prey of mountain lions. For the afternoon we will head back to the camp-site for lunch and relaxation time. After our “Siesta” , where we can enjoy the beautiful views of the lake Pehoe, we will meet up with the guide again and start our afternoon and evening game walks/drives. We will drive through the amazing landscape of the park giving us a magnificent panoramic view along way.
On one of the days we will make a boat drive on the Lago Grey. We are driving through a beautiful turquoise coloured lake where we will pass big blocks off ice that calved from the massive grey glacier. Maybe we have the chance to watch one of the massive ice blocks falling into the lake. A once in a lifetime experience. Depending on the cruise time we have time to relax or go onto a game drive again.
Day 6
In the morning we have the chance to make a last game drive in the park before we have to leave the dome tents at noon. After that we will drive towards Puerto Natales. Depending on our arrival time we will have a chance to explore the little town and can find a few Souvenirs. In the evening we will meet in a good fish restaurant where we will have dinner and can review our experiences from the week.
Day 7
Early drive to Punta Arenas and flight.
