Overview
- The polar bear tours run from sunrise to sunset – generally 8am to 5pm. Much of the day is what we call ‘magic hour’ where the light is golden and truly amazing.
- Our tours run on brand new Ford F150 hybrid 4×4 trucks with ample space, onboard electrical power and sun roof/moon roof on each vehicle. There is no other tour company in Churchill that offers this level of low-emissions and comfort on tour.
- Each day we range approximately 25 kilometers away from town using a series of trails to the coast that intersect the polar bear migration trails. There are several mothers and cubs that return to Churchill each year as they feel it is a safe place. While we remain close to town for safety and comfort, each day feels truly remote and special.
- Churchill is one of the best places in the world to view northern lights – all clients will be added to the ‘Aurora Watch’ list where they will be notified if aurora activity is starting and given the option to join an aurora viewing tour along the coast.
- Guides are all highly experienced in polar bear safety and wilderness first aid. Bear and client safety are top priority while providing memorable close encounters with these ‘lords of the arctic’.
- Weather is highly variable so we will provide a clothing list and clothing rental options.
