A return to legendary places

Join Frank Wirth on a very personal journey back to Belize: the country where he filmed for German television at the Belize Zoo in 2002/03, and where he completed more than 300 dives at the Great Blue Hole in 1990/91. An extraordinary combination of world-class diving, ancient Maya civilisation, tropical rainforest and native wildlife, designed for a small group of around 12–14 participants.

• 16 Dec – Arrival in Belize City: private transfer to the hotel, informal group welcome
• 17 Dec – Belize Zoo: photography-focused visit, then on to Caves Branch Jungle Lodge
• 18 Dec – Maya civilisation: Xunantunich and Cahal Pech
• 19 Dec – Cave floating: into the Maya underworld
• 20 Dec – Rainforest: nature walk, bird and wildlife photography or a further cave experience
• 21 Dec – To Lighthouse Reef: boat to Long Caye and Itza Resort
• 22 Dec – First dives around the atoll
• 23 Dec – Half Moon Caye Wall
• 24 Dec – The Great Blue Hole: Frank’s return (deep dive for appropriately experienced divers only)
• 25 Dec – Christmas beneath the Caribbean Sea: reef dives, plus a night dive during the island stay
• 26–27 Dec – Reef walls and final diving days
• 28 Dec – Return to Belize City, free afternoon
• 29 Dec – Lamanai or Crooked Tree
• 30 Dec – Departure on the planned Discover Airlines flight to Frankfurt

• 16–17 Dec: 1 night in Belize City (Ramada by Wyndham Princess or similar)
• 17–21 Dec: 4 nights at Ian Anderson’s Caves Branch Jungle Lodge
• 21–28 Dec: 7 nights at Itza Resort, Long Caye, Lighthouse Reef Atoll
• 28–30 Dec: 2 nights in Belize City (Ramada or similar)
