Malapascua – the thresher shark experience

Early morning dives at Monad Shoal offer one of the world’s most unique shark encounters: thresher sharks rising from the deep at sunrise to visit cleaning stations. Over several dive days you also explore coral gardens and sandy plateaus, macro sites with seahorses, frogfish and nudibranchs, and Gato Island, famous for reef sharks, sea snakes and swim-throughs.

Moalboal – the sardine run

Just a few metres from shore, millions of sardines form shifting underwater clouds all year round. Add green sea turtles, wall dives along Pescador Island and drift dives with rich coral life: easy, dynamic diving for photographers and recreational divers alike.

The plan

• 9 Jan: arrival in Cebu, overnight
• 10 Jan: transfer north to Malapascua
• 11–15 Jan: Malapascua diving (thresher sharks, reefs, Gato Island)
• 16 Jan: transfer to Moalboal
• 17–21 Jan: Moalboal diving (sardine run, turtles, Pescador Island)
• 22 Jan: return to Cebu City and departure
