Our Orca in the Northern light safari has just finished but now we look already to the next Orca highlight. We concentrate on one of the highlights in animal kingdom, to the Orca on the southern side of the world – In Patagonia.

This is our last day in Norway. The Sea Conditions were not perfect this week but still we had a last great day out there. Orca, Humpbacks and Finwhales even in our 4th departure. Here are my Humpback shoots from today.

During the night the wind was blowing like hell. The snow piled up 1m in front of my apartment this morning. But we decided to leave to the port and check the whale and weather situation.
In the Fjord in the North the sea looked ok and we prepared for departure. In the Fjord – No luck today…no whales.
So we had to sail out into the open ocean where the waves were about 2m…..this is not comfortable and a difficult ...
The last night was a long night. Some of the photographers stayed until 2 in the morning along the river to shoot the northern light. And the light came like an explosion….see extra post comming up soon:
Today was a windy day again without any chance to go the the sea. But we had information about some Rendeer sighted at the Fjords in the south…..so we went by car and luckily we found them…..
Norway Expedition Day 4…Wind and Waves and no Orca oin the Fjord.
Its nature….so we have to accept. Time to sort our pictures. Torsten and Gabi Westphal are on their 11th holiday with Frank Wirth. I am happy to have them on board. Here is a first selection of their pictures from the first 2 days….more to follow.
